Leon Majors

Leon Majors, of Safford, passed gently into the arms of his Savior at sunrise on Easter Sunday, April 1st.
Born September 25, 1945, in Selma, to the late J.P. and Marie B. Majors, youngest of three sons and sixth generation of Majors born in Dallas County, Leon was immediately preceded in death by his beloved brother Herman.
He leaves behind brother Paul (Violet) Majors; sister-in-law Linda Majors; nieces and nephew Melynda Elizabeth Majors, Shannon Majors Anderson, Christopher (Jennifer) Majors, Elizabeth (Sean) Majors Bertrand and Alexis (Blas) Smith Elias; great-nieces and -nephews John Dickson, C.J. Majors, Daulton and Amanda Anderson, and Canyon and Landis Elias; one remaining uncle, Don Sanders; a host of cousins; and special family friend Ella Mae Pullom Rogers.
A casual, informal memorial service is planned for Sunday, April 22nd, at 2 p.m., Orrville United Methodist Church, Rev. Travis Barnes, Rev. Von McQueen and Rev. Larry Nickles officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Jones, David Givhan, Russell Foster, Bart Anderson, Brian Yount, Eugene Bayne, Richard Jones, Pearce Caine, Scott Silvey, Eric Jewell, Ed Hooker, Rod Barnes, David Anderson, J.B. Phillips, Bill Russell, Jimmy Jones, Sam Neely, David Caine, Lebo Jones, Sam Givhan, Sam Houston Givhan, Calvin Bowie, Jeff Jones, Cecil Fields, Hunter Miller, Justin Rhodes, John Henry Kitchens, Snap Dagostin, Ken Busby and Dr. Jack Burns.
The Majors and Baker families gratefully recognize the congregations of Orrville UMC and Safford Baptist Church, O’Mara Cook, Judy McKinney, Judy Jackson, Maria Silvey Richards, Scott Silvey, Overton Gibson, Suzanne Ingram, SDAC, Florida Blue of Pensacola, Selma Medical Associates, Warren Manor, Homestead Hospice, and Lawrence Brown-Service for their kindness, care and support.
