Kenneth Edward Brown

Kenneth Edward Brown, 92, of Atlanta, died April 6, 2018. Mr. Brown was born in 1925, in Selma, and was the son of the late Henry Edward Brown and Willie Fail Brown. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II where he was a decorated tail gunner on a B-29 Superfortress heavy bomber in the Pacific theatre. After his military service Mr. Brown graduated from Auburn University and married Elizabeth French in 1964. Mr. Brown enjoyed spending time with his family but most of all loved being a grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth French “Betsy” Brown and his sister Frances Brown Steele. Kenneth is survived by his son, Kenneth Whitney Brown (Heather Grehan Brown); daughter, Elizabeth Ewing “Libby” Brown (Charlotte Sprague); grandsons, Benjamin Mitchell Brown, William Henry Brown; sisters, Irma Brown Goldsmith, Cherry Brown Marshall; and brother, Richard Kirkland Brown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School. A Memorial Service will be Friday, April 13, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Church, 805 Mount Vernon Hwy., Sandy Springs, GA 30327.
