Lessie Bell Franklin Chance passed away on Jan. 11, 2018, at the age of 88. She was born Nov. 25, 1929, to Houston and Pearl Etheridge Franklin. She is preceded by her husband, Elwood Calvin Chance; her son, Larry Alton Chance; a sister, Lois Franklin Lord; and brother, Trammell J. Franklin.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Adrian Chance (Donnie); daughter in law, Althea Harrison Chance; grandchildren, Leah (Steve) Sansom, Jarred (Jennifer) Chance, Chad Chance and Courtney Chance; great-grandchildren, Owen Tillman Sansom, Madison Elizabeth Sansom, Anna Grace Chance and William Clayton Chance; and numerous nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at New Live Oak Cemetery with the Rev. Johnathan Jenkins officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 10:30–11 a.m. at the cemetery.
