Offices, businesses close for Christmas

Christmas is quickly approaching and city and county offices along with many businesses will be closed to celebrate the holiday.
The Selma and Dallas County Public Library will be closed on Saturday, Dec. 23. They will also be closed for Monday, Dec. 25 and Tuesday, Dec. 26. They will reopen on Wednesday, Dec. 27. They will remain open until Saturday, Dec. 30th and will be closed until Jan. 2nd to celebrate the New Year. The book drop off on Washington Street will be available to those who need to return books during the closings.
The Post Office on Alabama Avenue will be closed for Christmas. They will reopen on Tuesday, Dec. 26 with regular business hours.
The Dallas County Courthouse will be closed Dec. 25 and 26 and will reopen on Wednesday, Dec. 27. They will also be closed for the New Year on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 1 and 2. The courthouse will reopen on Wednesday, Jan. 3.
The trash pick up schedule will not change throughout the holiday season.
Scheduled trash pick up for Monday, Dec. 25 as well as Monday, Jan. 1 will remain the same.
City Hall will be closed December 25 and 26, and they will reopen on Wednesday, Dec. 27 at 8:30 a.m. They will also close Jan. 1 and 2, and they will reopen on the Jan. 3 at regular business hours.
