Four people were injured late Saturday night after multiple shots rang out at a party on Kings Bend Road.

According to Sgt. Ray Blanks, an investigator with the Selma Police Department, four people were shot after a fight between two women broke out around 11:30 p.m.

“A fight broke out between two females, and then individuals started shooting,” he said. “There were a total of four victims that were hit during the altercation and also five vehicles were shot into.”

Blanks said two of the victims suffered serious gunshot injuries. Two of the victims had to be airlifted out of Selma to hospitals in Huntsville and Chattanooga, and another was transported to a Tuscaloosa hospital.

One of the victims that was seriously injured is a female in her 20s, who was shot in the back. The second victim in serious condition is a 43-year-old male that Blanks said was shot in the face.

“They’re still in the hospital,” Blanks said.

The other two victims, a 27-year-old female and a 22-year-old male, were shot in the left shoulder and wrist.

Blanks said so far no arrests have been made, and the department is still investigating.

Lt. Tory Neely with the Selma Police Department said investigators are in the process of trying to get interviews with the two victims listed in serious condition.

Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson said the shooting happened at Jesse’s Pool.  Neely described the location as a rental venue for parties.

“Somebody had rented it and were having some kind of club party or social with a large crowd of people and an open parking lot,” Neely said.

He said there was a large crowd and a packed parking lot when the shooting started.

“We just know there were at least three shooters,” Neely said. “Three different caliber [shell casings] were out on the ground. Two calibers were handguns, and one was a rifle.”
