Robert Middleton Tate Sr., age 79, of Selma, passed away Monday, Aug. 14, 2017.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Steve Burton and Dr. Jerry Gunnells officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from noon until  1 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery.

Mr. Tate is preceded by his parents, Stonewall Jackson and Ruth Tate; and daughter, Terri Louise Tate.

Mr. Tate is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sadie Tate; daughter, Sherri Ruth Tate; son, Robert Middleton Tate Jr. (Jodi); grandsons, Jesse Aaron Hinton, Joshua Aaron Hinton, Stonewall Jackson Tate and William Carson Tate; and his Sunday school class, the Westminster Class.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Aaron Hinton, Joshua Aaron Hinton, Stonewall Jackson Tate, William Carson Tate, Todd Stewart and Phifer Nicholson.
