More than 40 teams celebrated with over 30 cancer survivors and fought back against the disease Friday night for Relay for Life.

It was great to the see the community come on out together for a common cause –– fighting cancer. Cancer is an evil disease that has more than likely affected somebody you know, and that is why it is important to continue the fight against cancer.

From children with cancer to those that have been cancer free for more than 25 years, a number of people came out to show that with the help of the American Cancer Society, they beat the disease.

Events like this are always fun for the community, and it’s a great time for cancer survivors to share their stories and meet others who have been through the same thing.

Selma never ceases to amaze us with the amount of money and time they give to organizations like this.

This year, they raised over $90,000, and that is not the final total.

Dallas County should be proud of the hard work put in by all of the teams that took part in this year’s Relay for Life event.

This money will go towards a cure, but it will also help those that are currently battling the disease by helping them with transportation and a place to stay during treatment.
