Delta Kappa Gamma Academic program spreads out funds this year, helps more local students

The Delta Kappa Gamma Academic Award program gave out six $500 scholarships. The program was previously known as Girl of the Year but underwent some changes this year so that more girls could be involved.
In the past, there’s only been one winner, but this year the top qualified applicant from each of the local high schools was awarded.
The actual scholarship banquet was also a bit different this year, as organizers saved as much as they could to pay for the scholarships.
These are all positive changes. The program has been great in the past, but one top applicant was awarded the scholarship. This year the money was more spread out, which seems like the best way to go about it. There are many deserving students all around the county and by spreading the money out, it gives Delta Kappa Gamma a chance to help more students.
Congratulations to all six of the winners.
