Joyce Falkner Bowen Hobbs, age 89, formerly of  Birmingham, died Friday, April 28, 2017,  at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Tyler.

She was a native of Birmingham where she lived most all of her life. She resided in Tyler for the past five years.

She was a member of the Riverchase United Methodist Church  and formerly played the organ at Brighton United Methodist Church for 30 years and Mt. Chapel in Hoover.

She was a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by two daughters, Lauren B Russell (Dan) and Karen DeLoach; two grandchildren, Brian DeLoach (Bevin) and Eric DeLoach; one great-grandchild, Malachy DeLoach.

Services will be held on Monday, May 1 at Noon at Valhalla Chapel, 5317 Bessemer Super Highway, Midfield, Alabama, 35228,  (205) 425-9898, with the Revs. John Mount and Bill McCall officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 1 from 11 a.m. until funeral time at noon.
