Irma Jean (Fletcher) Felts

Irma Jean (Fletcher) Felts, 83, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017, at Life Path Hospice House in Riverview, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter John Fletcher and Josie Inez Fletcher; husband, Ernest E. Felts Sr.; sisters, Annie Ruth Waites (Red), Sudie Cleo Woodard (Sinclair) and Billie Josephine Thompson; a brother, Walter Lee Fletcher; and daughter, Wanda K. Vasser.

She is survived by sisters, Bobby Faye Veach (Paul), Nellie Grace Smedley (Robert), Margaret Pauline Greer (Junior) and Ruby Mae Cunningham; daughter, Vickie J. Felts; son, Ernest E. Felts Jr.; grandchildren, Elmer Eugene South III, Randi Haugen-Peirce (Matt), William Edward Vasser (Jenny), Nicholas Fletcher Felts and Kiel Eden Felts; a great-granddaughter, Eden Louise Felts; and too many loving nephews and nieces to mention.

Mrs. Felts was born in Burnsville in 1933. After being a stay at home mom for many years, she began working at Craig Air Force Base until it closed in 1977. She moved to Pensacola, Florida, in 1977 and worked at the Pensacola Naval Air Station until she retired in 1991.

Before and after retirement, she and her husband of 65 years spent much of their time camping at Roland Cooper State Park in Camden. Their fellow campers were a family that enjoyed their fellowship in nature.

Services will be held at the Selma Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, April 27. Visitation is from 10-11 a.m. Services begin at 11 a.m. with interment following at Pineview Memory Gardens.
