Melwyn Miller Taccone, 86, died at her home, Wednesday, March 29, 2017, following a lengthy illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Taccone Sr.; her parents, Aubrey Miller Sr. and Hennie Ida Jones Miller; and her brother, Aubrey Miller Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Taccone (Dana) Hollis of Selma and Lisa Taccone (Gary) Harding of Birmingham; son, David (Donna) Taccone Jr. of Selma; grandchildren, John (Evelyn) Taccone and Dr. Matthew Taccone of Selma and Kayla Harding (Jonathan) Bowman of Birmingham; and several nieces and nephews.

Melwyn graduated from Parrish High School and spent many years as the receptionist for Dr. Bryant Speed.

The family would like to thank Sharon, Sirrea, Frances, Dee and Rick from Homestead Hospice and Nese Burton, caregiver, for all of their love and care.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 1, at 11 a.m. in New Live Oak Cemetery with Dr. Cecil Williamson and Dr. Joshua Carmichael officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
