The last few days in Selma have been busy and filled with event after event.
It all started with the sixth annual Alabama River Chili Cookoff, which is put on by Selma-Dallas County Leadership Class XVIII. Water Avenue was filled with people tasting all the different chilis and dancing along with mascots, including the Selma Fire Department’s Sparky, Main Street Selma’s Dr. Wag, the Times-Journal Chili Pepper and Boss Hog.
Friday was also busy with Tally Ho’s annual St. Patrick’s Day fundraiser and the start of the 42nd annual Historic Selma Pilgrimage.
People visited Selma to check out the many historic homes, museums and other buildings that help make Selma a beautiful city.
The weather could have been a little warmer, but overall it was a great weekend that had something for everyone. And to think, this was just the start of a busy spring. There area number of events coming up to keep everyone in Selma busy.
