In the next few weeks, we’ll write a lot about the upcoming Selma Pilgrimage, include our annual special edition that breaks down each home and building on this year’s tour.
In Sunday’s newspaper, we announced the lineup for this year’s Pilgrimage, which will take place March 17-18. The group of homes on tour will include the Hunter Coffee-Tipmore House, the Riggs-Morgan Boyd House, the Hill View House, the Gillis House and the Hain-Harrelson Home.
A daytime ticket for the tour is $35, while a ticket that includes all the homes and admission to Friday’s evening reception is $45.
Children’s tickets and other specialty tickets are also available for purchase.
The Pilgrimage is an event that brings in people from all over the state and some from other parts of the South, but it can also be educational for locals as well. The tour is a chance to tour homes you probably have never been inside of before and to learn parts of Selma’s history that are often untold.
