Long-time Selma resident, Helen R. Carter passed away Feb. 12, 2017, at the age of 85 surrounded by her family.

She was born July 7, 1931, to the late Troy and Lucile Black.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Carter; son, Troy L. Carter; her parents; and her brothers, Roger Black and Gerald Black.

She is survived by her daughter, Pam Wong; son, Jeff (Donna) Carter; brothers, Bobby (Marilyn) Black, Wayne (Martha) Black, Randy (Diana) Black and Tim (Dolly) Black; grandchildren, Jason (Andrea) Wong, Bradley Wong, Scott Carter, Stephanie (Scott) Girlie and Eric (Savannah) Carter and great-grandsons, Landon Girlie, Ethan Girlie and Grayson Girlie.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 1 p.m. at Pineview Memory Gardens with the Rev. Eric Carter officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon to 12:45 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Randall Greene, Jerry Greene, Terry Greene and Bradley Wong.
