Selma-Dallas County Library to host Gossom

The Selma-Dallas County Public Library has hosted many different authors over the years, and they will do it again this week.
The library is bringing in another unique author to sit down and talk with people in the community about what it is inspired him to write his book.
Thom Gossom Jr. will be taking the podium at the library to talk about his book series, “Slice of Life” which includes the books “A Slice of Life,” “Another Slice of Life” and the “Rest of the Pie.” Gossom will also discuss his book “Walk On :A Memoir My Reluctant Journey to Integration at Auburn University.” It’s a collection of short stories.
Gossom was the first football walk-on at Auburn, and the first African-American athlete to graduate from the university. After the lunch, Gossom will talk about this time at Auburn and his acting career.
The Lunch at the Library series will continue will continue in March with Alston Fitts, author of “History of Selma and Dallas County.”
In April, Jim Felder will present “Alabama Scenic River Trail.
Kate Wood of the “Wood and Spoon” blog, will be on hand in April as well to present “Sensational Spring Desserts.”
Book sales and autographs will be available before and after the program at each event. Lunch at the Library tickets are on sale now for $8.
