Larry C. Morris, 75, of Tuscaloosa, passed away Jan. 26, 2017.
Arrangements are scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Dr. Herbert Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther C. Morris and Alice Morris; grandson, Andrew Stephen Morris; and son-in-law, Bryan Galyon.
He is survived by his wife, Margery Morris of Tuscaloosa; daughter, Lisa Morris Manderson (Scott) of Tuscaloosa; son, Stephen Morris (Frances) of Montgomery; brother, Dr. Dale Morris (Trisha) of Forrest City, Arkansas; and grandchildren, Megan G. Foster (Zach), Reid Galyon (Amy), Sheridan Galyon, Mary Frances Morris and Coleman Morris.
He was born in West Helena, Arkansas and married for 55 years to the former Margery C. Fennell (West Helena, Arkansas).
Larry graduated with a communications degree and began a career in radio, TV, and video productions, which lasted more than 40 years. He was best known as “Morris in the Morning” and as the sports play-by-play talent for several local schools.
He and Margery raised their family in Selma and were a vital part of the community and their church, Elkdale Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Coleman Morris, Reid Galyon, Scott Manderson, Zach Foster, Lewis Rager and Quintus Williamson.
