Jewel Dean Sanders, age 84, of Sardis, passed away Jan. 4, 2017.

Mrs. Sanders is preceded by her husband, Clyse Sanders; parents, June and Lyda Posey; brother, Willie Posey; and grandson, “Little Jerry” Johnston.

She is survived by her children, Frances Johnston of Ashville, N.C., Kathy Cochran of Selma, Wayne Nichols of Selma, Lawrence Nichols (Beverly) of Selma, David Sanders (Lisa) of Foley; brothers, Donald Posey of Selma, Earl Posey of Selma, Roger Posey of Selma; a very special sister-in-law and friend, Geral Posey of Selma; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Pineview Memory Gardens with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home from 1-1:45 p.m. Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Nichols, Tim Johnston, Brandon Johnson, Westley Nichols, Kevin Nichols, and Keith Dixon.
