Art Jam was a great success for the Blackbelt Benefit Group and Main Street Selma, as a number of people attended the annual event at ArtsRevive.
The event was a fundraiser for ArtsRevive, which is working to revitalize downtown Selma through the arts. As ArtsRevive continues to work on the Carneal building, other projects are being completed to really amp up Water Avenue. One of those projects is Gallery 905, which has been open for a little over a year now.
Art Jam also gave local artists a chance to show off some of their work, and even sell some of their pieces at the gallery.
Those that bought artwork from the show were able to give back not only to the artist, but also to the Art Jam fundraiser.
The event was great for people to get out and enjoy great art, food and music. Art Jam featured Dylan Leblanc and the Pollies, along with special guests VK and Chip Spencer along with Paul Garner, who just released an album.
It was an event for people of all ages to really enjoy themselves while giving back to the community and supporting some great local artists.
It wasn’t only locals that got to enjoy the event though. People drove from out of town to experience the great talents that we have in Selma.
Events like this help the community by bringing others here and boosting our economy.
We want to see more events like Art Jam in Selma, and really see the community get out and have a good time together while benefiting others in the area.
It’s always a good thing when people can have fun, enjoy eachother and give back.
