Breal Johnson

Breal Johnson, 91, of Selma, went home to her Heavenly Father Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016.

Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home. Services will follow at 2 p.m. with minister Mike McElroy officiating. Burial will directly follow in Pineview Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Johnson was born Feb. 21, 1925, on the family farm near Ashford to the late Luda and O. S. Nowell Sr.

In 1945, she moved to Selma with her husband. She worked at Craig Air Force Base Exchange until its closing. She retired from J.C. Penny in 1998 after 17 years of service as head sales specialist.

She was a devoted and caring sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Johnson also loved working in her beautiful yard and flower gardens. She was a member of Woodland Heights Presbyterian Church for many years.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, J. H. Johnson Jr.; brothers, Ray Nowell, Tommy Nowell and O.S. Nowell Jr.; sisters, Evie Jean Burch, Ruth Ellen Buie and Annie M. Mills; and a grandson, John Wade Johnson.

She is survived by her son, H. Wade Johnson (Shirley) of Lake Martin; a granddaughter, Teresa Deloney (Rick) of Montgomery; great grandsons, Richard Wade Deloney (Erica) of Auburn,  Garrett Deloney and Trace Deloney of Montgomery; two sisters, Faye Watkins of Dothan and Gloria  Moseley (Dale) of Elba; and brother, Jerry Nowell Sr. (Jeanie) of Daleville. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Pallbearers will be Richard Wade Deloney, Garrett Deloney, Trace Deloney, Joe Massey, Don Mills and Brian Mills.

Her sweet smile and loving, caring personality will be missed greatly by her family and all who knew her.
