Isabel Oakes Hardy passed away Dec. 5, 2016, at John Knox Manor in Montgomery.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Sidney Johnston Hardy Jr.; father, John Mike Oakes; mother, Jenny Suther Oakes; and all of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Hope Hardy Holt (Barry); granddaughter, Sidney Caroline Holt; grandson Barry “Reid” Holt Jr., all of Montgomery; one sister-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a lifelong resident of Alberta and a member of the Gastonburg Methodist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016, from 10-11 a.m. at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Everyone will then meet at the graveside service at 11:30 a.m. in New Live Oak Cemetery with her great-niece, the Rev. Misty Edwards Barrett and the Rev. Jim Waters officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Gastonburg United Methodist Church, Gastonburg, AL or The United Methodist Children’s’ Home.
