“We’re actually expecting a big turnout if it is anything like it was last year,” said Lowanda Fitts, area manager for Belk. “It was like really crazy. We’re looking forward to a great turnout.”

There will be good deals on just about everything in the store. According to Belk’s Black Friday book, there are 72 pages worth of doorbusters available in the sale.

“It’s really good deals; $19.99 boots, $29.99 boots, luggage for $39.99, comforters for $29.99 and so forth and so on,” she said.

Walmart is also getting started early with their Black Friday deals online and in store. Online sales start at 12:01 a.m. Thanksgiving morning, and in-store sales start at 6 p.m. Thursday.

“The Selma community is always enthusiastic about our Black Friday event, and we expect a good turnout again this year,” said Matt Joiner, store manager of Selma Walmart. “We look forward to taking care of our customers and helping them get great deals on everything from TVs, laptops and tablets to the season’s most popular toys.”

People looking for good deals on games can head to Game Stop early Friday morning at 5 a.m.

Hibbett Sports will also have Black Friday deals for shoppers.

“It’s going to be a pretty busy day. We’ll open up at 7 a.m., so we’re expecting crowds from the time of opening,” said Hibbett Sports assistant manager Crystal Bennett. “We have an additional 40 percent off all of our clearance apparel and clearance items, and we also have a shoe BOGO, buy a regular price shoe and get a red sale tag shoe half off.”

Bennett said the store has already seen a good crowd this week, and is hoping for an even bigger one for Black Friday.

“We actually have already started seeing a crowd,” she said.

“We’re hoping we’ll have a good crowd.”

Some local stores will be taking part in Black Friday as well, and more than 23 of them will be open Saturday for Small Business Saturday.
