County and city offices, along with some local businesses, will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Selma City Hall and Selma Municipal Court will be closed Thursday and Friday for the holidays. Both will reopen Monday at normal operating hours.

Sea Coast Disposal will be closed Thursday and will reopen Friday at 8 a.m. Garbage will not be picked up on Thanksgiving.

Garbage that is normally picked up Thursday will be picked up Friday, and garbage that is picked up Friday will be picked up Saturday.

The United States Post Office located at the intersection of Alabama Avenue and Franklin Street will be closed Thursday and will return to normal operating hours Friday.

The Dallas County Courthouse will also be closed Thursday and Friday and will resume normal business hours on Monday.

The Selma-Dallas County Public Library will be closed for Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday and will reopen at 9 a.m. Saturday. Books can be dropped off at the Washington Street entrance.

The city of Selma Public Works Department will be closed on Thanksgiving. There will be no trash pick up. Trash service will resume Nov. 28.

Banks are also closed Thursday.
