Nell Ward Leverette

Nell Ward Leverette, age 94, passed away Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, at home in South Carolina. Nell was born in Selma, Nov. 17, 1921, and was the daughter of Jesse Lee Ward and Nellie Obrian. She married Bland K. Leverette who served in and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Army.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bland Leverette; sister, Katherine Louise Ward Johnson; and daughter, Sheryl K. Leverette.

Mrs. Leverette is survived by her daughters, Patricia L. Tabb (Jay), Kaye L. Fry (James), Marisa K. Helfen (Herbert); son, Bland K. Leverette III; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, at New Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
