A recent graduate of Selma High School is making her way back to her alma mater to perform with the Bethune-Cookman University choir out of Daytona Beach, Florida.
Sara Crum graduated from Selma High School in May before making her way to the university.
“They are touring, and Selma High was chosen to be one of the schools that they tour,” said Lesia James, media clerk at Selma High School. “The reason they are coming is because Sara is doing such a great job out there, and they want Selma High to see what she’s doing now.”
James said that Crum is one of the lead vocalists in the group, and is there on a full choir scholarship.
“This is awesome, awesome, … to have someone with her abilities and her singing experience to come back,” James said.
“It will give [current students] the opportunity to see that they can go abroad and still do great jobs leaving Selma.”
James said that the performance is open to the public, and Keith High School and Southside High School will also be in attendance.
The concert starts at 1 p.m. and will be held at the Selma High School Auditorium. Admission is free.
