More than $10,000 in scholarships were awarded to high school girls during Saturday night’s Dallas County Distinguished Young Women program.

Meadowview Christian’s Kinsley Mott took home the title, while Anna Catherine King was first alternate and Caroline Colvin was second alternate.

The scholarship program takes a lot of work to organize and put on each year. The committee that makes this happen should be congratulated for another successful program.

DYW used to be known as Junior Miss and the Dallas County program alone as given out hundreds of thousands of dollars since its inception.

Mott will go on to represent Dallas County at the state competition in January. Last year’s local winner, Esosa Aghedo, finished as first runner-up at that level and is a student at Texas Christian University this fall.
