Classie Mae Clay (Lee Alston) (“Bay / Honey Bay”) was born in Selma on February 11, 1934.  She was raised by her mother Velma Clay and her stepfather, Leon Clay, Sr.  Her parents and stepfather precede her in death.

Classie died peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, August 3, 2016. Those left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband Charles Alston; her son, Eddie Clay (Margaret); her daughter, Barbara Clay; her sister, Ernestine Ward (Ernie); her brothers, Leon Clay, Jr. (Wilma), Caesar Clay (Pearl), Tommie Clay (Mary), Hennon Clay; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her “adopted daughter,” Barbara Lyding (Joseph); and a host of other dear family members and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday Aug. 13, 2016, with viewing from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and the funeral at 11 a.m. at Eternity Funeral Services, located at 129 Engle St, Englewood, NJ, 07631.
