The youth baseball and softball playoffs started Monday, as each team in seven different leagues began its journey toward a league championship. Here is how the playoff picture stacks up in each league.

 

7-8 softball

Format: Double elimination

First round results: No. 1 seed Sierra Mist beat No. 4 seed Cougar Chevron, and No. 2 seed First Cahawba Bank beat No. 3 seed American Legion.

Upcoming matchups: No. 4 Cougar Chevron plays No. 3 American Legion Wednesday at 7 p.m., and No. 1 Sierra Mist plays No. 2 First Cahawba Bank Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Championship game: Tuesday, May 31 at 6 p.m.

 

9-10 softball

Format: Double elimination

First round results: No. 1 seed Civitan Club played No. 4 seed Woodmen of the World and No. 2 seed Cash and Carry played No. 3 seed Cougar Chevron Tuesday.*

Upcoming matchups: The winner of No. 1 Civitan Club and No. 4 Woodmen of the World will play the winner of No. 2 Cash and Carry and No. 3 Cougar Chevron Friday at 6 p.m. The losers of both games play each other Friday at 7 p.m.

Championship game: Tuesday, May 31 at 7 p.m.

 

11-12 softball

Format: Double elimination

First round results: No. 1 seed Blue Ox played No. 4 seed Taylor Sports and No. 2 seed Cougar Chevron played No. 3 seed Frasier-Ousley Tuesday.*

Upcoming matchups: The winner of No. 1 Blue Ox and No. 4 Taylor Sports will play the winner of No. 2 Cougar Chevron and No. 3 Frasier-Ousley Wednesday at 6 p.m. The losers of each game will play each other Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

Championship game: Tuesday, May 31 at 6 p.m.

 

5-6 baseball

Format: Double elimination

First round results: No. 2 seed Rountree Outdoors beat No. 3 seed Cosby Company and No. 5 seed Steve Lane’s Truck and Auto beat No. 4 seed Rehab Associates. No. 4 Rehab Associates played No. 3 Cosby Company and No. 5 Steve Lane’s played No. 1 Air Pro Tuesday.*

Upcoming matchups No. 2 Rountree plays the winner of No. 5 Steve Lane’s and No. 1 Air Pro Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Championship game: Tuesday, May 31 at 6 p.m.

First round results: No. 9 seed Robinson Legal beat No. 8 seed Fuller Building, and No. 4 seed Trustmark beat No. 5 seed Henry Brick. No. 3 seed Cougar Chevron played No. 6 seed Dallas Avenue Pharmacy and No. 2 seed Swift Drugs played No. 7 seed Selma Crossfit Tuesday.*

Upcoming matchups: No. 1 seed Captain D’s plays No. 9 seed Robinson Legal Wednesday at 6 p.m. No. 4 Trustmark plays the winner of that game Friday at 6 p.m. The winner of No. 3 Cougar Chevron and No. 6 Dallas Avenue Pharmacy will play the winner of No. 2 Swift Drugs and No. 7 Selma Crossfit Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Championship game: Saturday, May 28 at 9 a.m.

First round results: No. 4 seed Frazer Group beat No. 5 seed Smitherman Bros. and No. 3 seed Wood Orthodontics beat No. 6 seed Lion’s Club. No. 1 seed Neely Charter played No. 4 Frazer Group and No. 3 Wood Orthodontics played No. 2 KFC Tuesday.*

Upcoming matchups: No. 5 Smitherman Bros. and No. 6 Lion’s Club each play the loser of Tuesday’s games Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The winner of No. 1 Neely Charter and Frazer Group plays the winner of No. 3 Wood Orthodontics and No. 2 KFC Friday at 7:30 p.m.

11-12 baseball
