Selma residents will soon have another option for urgent medical care.
Main Street Family Urgent Care will have a groundbreaking ceremony May 27 at noon at its future location on Alabama Highway 14 near Walmart.
Marketing Director Betsy Stewart said the groundbreaking will be a great way to share with the community about what’s coming.
“We’re going to have our medical director and corporate team there. We figured this was a good way to introduce ourselves. This gives the community a better opportunity to get to know us,” Stewart said.
Stewart said the urgent care will handle all non-life threatening care including colds, infections, cuts, allergic reactions, burns and more. Wellness and preventative care along with occupational health services will also be available.
Stewart said the clinic will also be available for people who need flexible hours.
“We are open seven days a week. It gives someone who is working more time to be seen themselves or bring their children,” Stewart said. “Illness and injury never takes a holiday, and it always happens at the least convenient times.”
The clinic will be open Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 6 p.m. A pharmacy will also be available onsite.
Employment opportunities will be posted online at www.mainstreetfamilycare.com in the next couple of weeks.
There is a need for medical assistants, front desk associates, community educator and a marketing and sales coordinator.
Stewart said August 22 is the target date for Main Street to open.
“There is a lot of change and revitalization happening in Selma, and we felt like there was a need for us here,” Stewart said.
“Our hope is to make healthcare a little more accessible and affordable.”
