Margaret Louise “Bunnie” Dale

Margaret Louise “Bunnie” Dale, 91, of Oak Hill, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 15, 2016, after a brief illness. Born February 5, 1925, she was the daughter of James Boroughs and Ruth Bonner Dale. She attended Erskine College and was a graduate of the Troy State Teacher’s College. For over 25 years, she was a beloved second grade teacher in Camden. After her retirement from education, she served as the director of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program for Wilcox County.
Miss Dale was an active member of the Bethel Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, and she served as its organist for over 60 years.
Miss Dale was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Alice Dale and Ruth Bonner Dale. She is survived by a host of cousins, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18 from the Bethel Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church on Oak Hill with pastor Henry Lewis Smith officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of the service in the church sanctuary. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
