Joyce Elizabeth Avritt Lassiter, age 73, of Selma, passed away at her home April 14, 2016.

She is survived by her children, Gail (Frank) Hobson, David Jr. (Brenda) Lassiter and Re’na (Earl) Smith, Jennifer Bruggerman, Patrick Avritt and Josh Avritt; grandchildren, Jill (Jake) Averette, Boone (Leslie) Hobson, Katie Hobson, Gabriel Hobson, Amber (Andrew) Osburn, Lacy Lovett, Ashley (Tim) Skelton, Nelson Lassiter, Patrick Lassiter; and great-grandchildren, Avi Williams, Evan Williams, Keaton Osburn, Sophia Lovett, Sydney Lovett, Shawn Skelton, Shane Skelton, Mia Skelton, Kloe Hobson, Anna belle Lassiter, Jace Hobson, Alexis Hobson and Cole Lassiter; brothers, Heustis Avritt, Dannie Avritt, Abraham (Jade) Avritt and Robert (Colleen) Avritt; sisters, Lizzie Goodman, Faye (John Champion, Violet Jobe, Ruby (Raphel) Vison, Mary (Glen) Gandy and Evelyn “Lucy” (Mike) Reinhart.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, H. David Lassiter Sr.; mother, Nealie Jane Avritt; father, George Wesley Avritt; brothers, George W. Avritt, Jr. and John Henry Avritt; and sister, Artis Jackson.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Avritt, Derek Champion, John Reed Jr. Lynn Goodman, Trent Williams and Andrew Osburn.

Funeral services were Monday, April 18 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Fancher officiating. Interment followed in Enon Cemetery in Pine Hill. Visitation was Sunday evening from 5 – 7 p.m.
