Youth Roundup: Baseball, softball scores for April 8

EDITOR’S NOTE: Here are more game recaps from games played as part of the Selma Recreation Department youth baseball and softball leagues. These recaps are provided by the recreation department and published as often as possible. 

April 8

Swift Drugs 12, Cougar Chevron 7 (7-8)

A 5-run third inning gave Swift Drug the lead for good in a 12-7 win over Cougar Oil. Shamarion Ross, Tyrone Sheppard, Nicholas Ballard, Donovan Johnson, AuTerrious Walter, Jerel Sample and Carlos Moore. James Jones, Nichols Thomas, Kaleb Munford, Trevor White and Cody Jones scored for Cougar Chevron.

 

VFW 5, Dallas 

Avenue 3 (11-12)

Arthur Vaughan, Marvion Jones, Khylar Bishop, Jordan Bolden, Joshua McClellan scored for VFW in a 5-3 win over Dallas Avenue. Joshua Brown, Arron Strong and Keviyon Haynes scored for Dallas Avenue.

 

Mee Too 19, Reliable Cadillac 2 (11-12)

Thomas Smitherman and Hunter Sheehan scored three runs apiece in Mee Too’s 19-2 win over Reliable Cadillac. Anthony Lumpkin, Matthew Hand, Derrick Brown, Jackson Wyatt, Christopher Ezelle and Cameron Griffin also scored for Mee Too.  DaMarious Bender and Strong scored for Reliable.

 

Neely Charter 10, Frazier Group 3 (7-8)

Neely Charter used a seven run first inning to roll to a 10-3 win over Frazier Group. Sharon Martin and Jason Rogers Jr. scored two runs apiece for Neely. Quinderius Chambers, Cameron Ford, Jaylyn Brown, J. Acoff, O’Marion Palmer and KeAundre Sharpe scored for Neely. Jalen Prince and Marquarius Reese scored for Frazier.

 

Captain D’s 16, Henry Brick 1 (7-8)

Quamarian Pernell, Venetris Eaton and Acoff scored three runs apiece for Captain D’s in a 16-1 win over Henry Brick. Jacobie Reese, Darrius Smith, SaMarion Woods, Cedrick Simmons and Omari Smith also scored for Caption D’s. Caden Tellier scored for Henry Brick.
