Christine R. Vaughan, a lifelong resident of Selma, died in her home Wednesday, March 30 at the age of 97.

Throughout the years, Christine was involved in numerous civic organizations and was a member St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Franklin Radford and Annie Maude Heitz Radford; brothers Johnny and Robert Radford; daughter Amy Vaughan Casey; and her husband of 55 years, Henry Albert Vaughan, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Dinny Mayer-Vaughan of Hamburg, Germany, and sons Jarman Russell Vaughan of Selma, and Henry Albert Vaughan III of Atlanta.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Central Alabama Animal Shelter in Selma.
