Erdine Glover Jones, 82, of Selma, passed away March 16, 2016, at Vaughan Regional Medical Center. Family visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, March 22 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Lewis Brothers Chapel. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, March 23 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Fredrick Hardy officiating.
Burial will follow in Fairlawn cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing. She is preceded in death by parents, the Rev. Dr. M.J. Glover and Cornela Jackson Glover; husband, Percy Jones; sisters, Maurine Glover Brown and Geneva Glover Smith. She is survived by her stepmother, Frankie M. Glover; nieces, Deborah Kimble-Smith of Pittsburgh, Dr. Constance Hendricks, Dr. Denisha Hendricks of Chicago, Monique Vann of Columbus, Ohio and Danielle Smith; and nephews, Terrel H. Smith, Dion Kimble and Dion Kimble II of Pittsburgh. Erdine was a member of First Baptist Church since relocation to Selma. She graduated in Renown Class of 1949 – Knox Academy and graduated from Selma University Junior College and Trenholm State Technical College, LPN Program. She was a member of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc., Beta Rho Chapter and National Council of Negro Women.
