The Morgan Academy Senators boys’ soccer team defeated the Autauga Academy Generals 3-1 Saturday at Autauga. 

Three seniors led the way in Morgan’s victory.

Calvin Oslund scored the first Senators goal on a header from a long throw from Mac Beers midway through the first half. Beers recorded his second assist on another throw, this time coming off the foot of Diyan Patel. Autauga scored to make it 2-1, but Oslund headed in a free kick from Patel to put the game out of reach with 10 minutes remaining in the game.

 

Autauga 2, Morgan 1 (girls)

The Morgan girls soccer team lost to Autauga 2-1 Saturday on the road.

After a scoreless first half, Morgan allowed two second-half goals. With 10 minutes left, Gilley Minter scored on a penalty kick, but the Senators ran out of time to tie the game.

Morgan’s boys and girls teams return home to host Coosa Valley Tuesday.
