Roger P. Burton passed away December 18, 2015, at the age of 53. He was born December 5, 1962, to the late Ray Otis and Clara Nell Hollingshead Burton.

He leaves behind his wife, Mary D. “Nese” Burton; son, Kenneth (Jennifer) Martin; daughters, Ashley (Jack) Duke, Stephanie Burton, Amanda (Adam) Weathers and Tami Weinberger; grandchildren, Michaela Lockhart, Corey Lee, Kaitlyn Lee, Paisley Morgan, Cowan Morgan, Skyler Duke, Shyanne Duke and Karlee Duke ; brother, Tim (Tammy) Burton; god sister, Darlene (David) Collinsworth; nieces, Kasey (Derrick Lassiter) Burton, Jessica (Logan) Lovelady, Reagan Burton, Crystal (Tyler) Wass and Devin Collinsworth; and countless aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Summerlin and the Rev. James Bozeman officiating. Interment will follow in Ocmulgee Baptist Church Cemetery with Jimbo Small officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 5-7 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Donald Tyus, Jr., Wayne Allen, Tommy Williams, Jason Shaw, Scott Lester, Chris Melton, Mike Ross and Butch Curtis. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Green, Honore’ Muntz and Jack Arnold.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Amy Haugen and everyone at Homestead Hospice and Dr. Richard Johnson for their loving and supportive care.
