The third suspect in connection with the burglary of churches in the Braggs and Farmersville area was captured by the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office today, Thursday, Oct. 29.

Kendrick Mason, 23, “was caught this morning after a brief chase through the woods near his home on Major Ralph Road and taken into custody,” said Lt. G. LaShun Hutson of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.

Hutson said the arrest by the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office took place in the Lowndes County portion of Minter.

On Wednesday, Oct. 29, Hutson said Nicolas Moore and Adam Spann were in custody while Mason was at large. Moore is 21 of Fort Deposit and Span is 33 of Greenville, according to Sheriff’s Office personnel.

Thursday, Hutson said all three men now face six counts theft of property in the first degree and two counts burglary in the third degree in connection with the burglaries.

According to Hutson, the suspects allegedly stole copper that was valued at about $200 at a scrap yard, but allegedly did about $40,000 worth of damage in the process.

The bond for Moore was set at $220,000 according to Sgt. M.V. Green, Lowndes County jail administrator.
