The Selma Community Concert Association will kick off its 76th season next week by bringing a Selma son home.

Mark McLemore, a tenor with Nashville acappella group “Street Corner Symphony,” will perform Thursday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.

McLemore founded the group, which includes six singers from across the Southeast, in 2010. Their repertoire covers a wide range from gospel to barbershop, from rock ‘n’ roll to pop.

Prior to Thursday night’s concert, the singers will perform for students in the afternoon.

Admission will be by Selma Community Concert Association season tickets, which are now on sale. Season tickets are $65 for adults, $140 for a pair, $150 for families and $10 for students. Other tax-deductible sponsorships are also available.

After Street Corner Symphony’s show, the season will continue with the organization’s appreciation concert and party in November.

Later concerts include a Brian Gurl and The Fabulous Five Band with their “Manilow, Joel and The Beatles” show in January as well as the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame in February.

Season tickets are available at the Selma and Dallas County Public Library, the Selma and Dallas County Chamber of Commerce and Pickard Auditorium on the night of the concert. For more information, contact concert association president Doris Holland at 875-9201.
