Olen Earnest Davis

Olen Earnest Davis passed away on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster. He had been in the care of Columbiana Health & Rehabilitation in Columbiana prior to his passing.
He was born in Moundville Feb. 23, 1930. He grew up in Uniontown but spent the majority of his life in Selma. He served in the United States Army from January 1953 to December 1954. He worked for Coca-Cola Bottling Company, and Cloverleaf Dairies. He was the owner of Selma Pest Control for many years until he semi-retired and owned Selma Storm Windows and Doors until he fully retired in 1995.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Davis of Uniontown; eight of his nine siblings, Bessie, Grace, Emma, Caroline, Margaret, Bud, William (Bill) and Robert Davis. Although Bert Fondren was not his brother by birth, he was most definitely like a brother to him.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Marie Morris-Davis of Wilsonville; two daughters, Susie Davis Massey (David) of Sumter, South Carolina and Cindy Davis Ferrell (Steve) of Selma; three grandchildren, Erin Michelle Massey, Michael (Lisa) Ferrell and Justin (Caitlin) Ferrell; and one great-grandson, Jackson Ferrell. He had a large extended family as well, which includes two step-children, Karee (Brent) Hughes and Ricky (Karen) Morris; three grandchildren, Chad Hughes, Brook (Shane) Roland and Krista (Donnie) Smith; five great-grandchildren, Carson and Tanner Roland; Madelyn, McKinley, and Morgan Smith, all of Shelby County. The family wished to thank the staff of Columbiana Health & Rehabilitation and Shelby Baptist Medical Center for their care during his illness.
