Peggy Janet Sommers, formerly of Valley Grande, passed away on Aug. 24, 2015. She was born on Sept. 23, 1931.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Sommers; mother, Lottie Sommers; and siblings, Clyde Sommers, Sybil Sommers Willis and Curtis Sommers.Surviving are her nieces, Patsy Willis Phillips; nephew, John Willis; great-nephew, Zach Phillips and great-niece, Ashley Phillips.
Graveside services will be Friday, August 28, 2015, at 10 a.m. in Pineview Memory Gardens with  Selma Funeral Home directing.
Peggy was a beloved family member who devoted her life to serving Christ.  She had a great love of animals and her dogs, Ruffles and Samantha were her “babies.”  She was retired from AT&T and was a lifelong member of the Bible Methodist Church in Selma where she played piano and organ.  She was a sweet, dear woman with a delightful sense of humor.  She will be greatly missed.
