Jerome Hale, 55, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Monday at 4 PM in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel.

The family will receive friends Monday at the funeral home prior to the service from 2:30 until 3:45 PM.

Jerome, a native of Selma, Alabama, had made his home in Greenville since 1989.

He was employed as a millwright at the Ayden/Grifton Weyerhaeuser Lumber Facility for the past 26 years.

He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and a member of the West Congregation.

Jerome was a loving, caring person, who always put his family and close friends first.

He was a selfless hardworking, and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.  His warm presence and welcoming smile always drew people in to him.

He will forever be missed, loved and appreciated.

Jerome was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Otis and Laura Harrison Hale.

He is survived by: his wife of 25 years, Toni Whitlock Hale;son, Anthonie Whitlock Hale and wife, Dymond; daughter, Syrena Hale; and grandchildren, Amari Hale and Brooklyn Whitlock, all of Winterville; brothers, Calvin Hale of Atlanta, GA, Michael Hale and wife, Deneen, and Lee Otis Hale, Jr., all of Selma; his mother-in-law, Sandra Whitlock; grandmother-in-law, Cathy Moore; brothers-in-law, William Hodges and Thomas Hodges; niece, Lauren Hale; uncle, Walter Hale and wife, Jessie; and numerous other relatives, friends, and loved ones.
