The fourth annual Congressional Job Fair will be early next month in Demopolis.
Congresswoman Terri Sewell said she is excited to welcome more than 50 employers to the job fair.
“This year, we will welcome more than 50 employers from a diverse range of employment sectors,” Sewell said. “I remain committed to making this an annual event, and I am pleased that this year’s job fair will be in Demopolis. In 2014, over 2,000 job seekers attended the event in Montgomery. This year, we are headed back to the Black Belt as we alternate between urban and rural areas each year.”
Employers from the following companies will be present: Hyundai Motor Manufacturing, Veterans Healthcare System, Alabama Power Company, Regions Bank, Wells Fargo, Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Georgia-Pacific Corporation, Golden Dragon Copper (USA), International Paper, Federal Bureau of Prisons, State of Alabama Personnel and more.
“It is critically important that we continue to create opportunities that address the 7th district’s number one issue which is unemployment,” Sewell said.
The fair will be held Aug. 6 at 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Demopolis High School’s gymnasium, located at 1701 U.S. Highway 80.
There is no cost to attend. Doors will open at 9 a.m. For more information, call 877-4414.
