Bama Club ticket raffle to help with scholarship fund

The Dallas-Wilcox Bama Club is giving Alabama football fans a chance to see every Crimson Tide home game this season while helping out a worthy cause.
The club, which annually gives out scholarships to local high school students who will attend the University of Alabama the next year, is holding a raffle where the winner will get two tickets to every Crimson Tide home game, an on-campus parking pass and two pre-game meals at the College of Commerce.
The cost of the raffle tickets is $20 and the total ticket package is valued at $870. A total of 300 tickets will be available for the raffle.
Once those 300 tickets are gone, no other tickets will be sold, said Dallas-Wilcox Bama Club president Ronnie Leet.
The raffle helps funds the club’s mission to award scholarships to local students attending the University of Alabama.
“Because of this raffle, we are able to offer scholarship money to area high school seniors going to the University of Alabama from Dallas and Wilcox County,” Leet said.
“This is our major fundraiser.”
Leet said the club has awarded $105,000 in scholarships over the last five years, which includes $14,000 that was split among six students in the spring.
The raffle winner will get a chance to see what looks like a tremendous home schedule for the Crimson Tide. Alabama faces Ole Miss, Arkansas, Tennessee and LSU at home this year. Most preseason prognosticators have all four of those teams among the favorites to win the SEC in 2015.
Alabama also faces Middle Tennessee State, Louisiana Monroe and Charleston Southern at home in 2015.
The winner will be announced live on WDXX 100.1 FM in early September. Tickets can be purchased from any Bama Club member. Checks should be mailed to Dallas Wilcox Bama Club, P.O. Box 2395, Selma, AL 36702. For more information call 875-2672.
