Summer will be a lot more fun for kids thanks to the renovations to the pool

Summer for Selma got a little bit cooler Tuesday with the official opening of Dinkins Pools. The city of Selma, along with everyone that helped get the pool back in shape, deserve a pat on the back.
The pool was completely renovated thanks to funds that were donated from council members and the Edmundite Missions, which was closed for the last two years.
This pool will go a long way in giving Selma’s youth something to do on a hot summer’s day. The project cost an estimated $80,000 to do, but it was well worth it. As Selma Mayor George Evans, Councilman Michael Johnson and others cut the ribbon for opening ceremony, the sound of kids splashing could already be heard.
The poll was supposed to open last week, but issues with the pump delayed it. It was a good decision to hold off on the opening and go ahead and get everything fixed.
With summer just arriving last Sunday, this pool will pay dividends in giving people something to do and somewhere safe to spend their days. The project wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the Edmundite missions.
