Gloria Jean Harvell Cook, 67, of Marion Junction, passed away April 19, 2015.

She graduated from Brantley High School in Selma, Selma University and Jersey City State College in Jersey City, N.J.
She was a retired educator. She was a member of Grove Hill AME Zion Church in Plantersville.

She leaves a loving family including one daughter, Ms. Yolanda R. Cook of Riverdale, Ga.; son, Mr. Robert L. Cook Jr. (Chaka Jones) of Selma; one God-daughter, Bobbye (Milik) Banks; four devoted grandchildren and caregivers, Al-tariq S. Cook, Precious N. Dixon, Colteen M. Johnson and Klyron Jones; great-grandchild, Morgan J. Johnson; two sisters, Mrs. Lou Bertha Lanier of East Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Annie L. Jenkins (James) of Potter Station; four brothers, James Harvell (Lois) of Selma, Samuel Harvell (Catherine) of San Francisco, Glenn Harvell of Selma and Johnnie Harvell (Annie) of Oakland, Calif.

She will lay in state Friday, April 24, 2015, at Grove Hill AME Zion Church from 2-7 p.m.

Visitation and flower delivery will be received also at the church. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 25, 2015, at 1 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Frankie Hutching, pastor, and the Rev. Greg Harris officiating. Earnest Johnson Funeral Home will be directing.
