Youth sports taking day-by-day approach with weather

Monday’s Selma city youth baseball and softball games were rained out and organizers are hoping that doesn’t turn into a week-long pattern.
Storms are forecasted all week for the Selma area and games are already two days behind after Friday’s games were postponed due to weather.
“All we can do is take it a day at a time,” said interim recreation director Lebo Jones. “We can’t just go ahead and cancel for the week because you never know what the weather is going to do.”
Jones said the department plans to reschedule any games that are rained out.
“I’m sure we won’t be able to reschedule all of them,” Jones said. “But, we will try to do as many of them as we can. It would have to be on Wednesday nights and Saturday afternoons because that’s the only time we can do it.”
