The first three days of this historic week in Selma will have people looking for shorts and umbrellas Tuesday and then heavy coats by Thursday morning.
There is a small chance for a severe thunderstorm Tuesday, according to Matt Anderson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Birmingham.
The high today is expected to be 76 F in Selma.
The warm spell won’t last for long. Cold air will creep in during the day Wednesday. There is also the chance of freezing rain Thursday morning, when the high will be in the mid 30s, roughly north of a line from Demopolis to Clanton to Anniston.
“There shouldn’t be any freezing rain or wintery precipitation down in Selma,” Anderson said.
