Clyde Adolphus Wilson Jr., age 69, of Valley Grande, passed away Feb. 16, 2015, at Tuscaloosa VA Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Wilson; daughters, Mary Beth Miner (Tim) and Claire Ash (Brandon); grandson, Hunter Alan Clackler; sister, Cynthia Hatfield (Forrest); stepchildren, Robbie Marrow, Ana M. Bullard (Duwayne) and Alden Marrow; step-grandchildren, Emily Ann Bullard and Madison Kate Bullard; and aunt, Pauline Worthy (Charles).

Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Wilson Sr. and Elizabeth “Beth” Wilson and son, Jack Alan Wilson.

Clyde began his career in banking with Citizen’s Bank and Trust Co. Selma and then joined Southtrust Bank as branch manager in Boaz. While in banking he joined the Alabama National Guard and later joined the Army full time as a recruiter. He served as career counselor and received top recruiter awards. While in the Army he served two tours of duty in Germany and Panama. He gave 35 years of devoted service to our country and achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Lloyd Stockman officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Pineview Memory Gardens with Selma Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Billy Quarles, Jimmy Stockman, Garland Hardy, Charles Ellis, Gary Griffith and Duwayne Bullard. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Bearden and the doctors and staff of Trinity Medical Center of Birmingham and VA Hospice of Tuscaloosa.
