Selma native and U.S. Congresswoman Terri Sewell has been named the top Democrat on the House’s Subcommittee on Overhead Architecture and Department of Defense Intelligence.

The subcommittee oversees policies, programs and budgets for Defense Intelligence Agency, the National Reconnaissance Office and National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency as well as the intelligence funding for the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps.

“I am proud that my colleagues selected me as the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Defense Intelligence and Overhead Architecture. Alabama plays a critically important role in providing the advanced technology necessary for our military and intelligence agencies to effectively execute their missions,” Sewell said. “As this Subcommittee’s Ranking Member, I am committed to working with Congress and the Administration in supporting polices and legislation that ensures the safety of all Americans.”
