The United States Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force made an arrest Thursday in Selma.
An armed suspect named Patrick Orlanda Freeman barricaded himself in the crawl space beneath a home in Selma, according to a press release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
With assistance from the Selma Police Department and the ALEA, marshals were able to apprehend Freeman, without incident or injury, using negotiation tactics.
Freeman, 34, was charged with one count of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, according to the ALEA.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s arrest reports indicate that Freeman was also charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, first-degree unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and he is currently in Dallas County Jail under a $265,000 bond.
Freeman had a warrant out for his arrest, according to Lt. Curtis Muhannad, head of the Selma Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
Muhannad declined to comment further on the incident, because Selma wasn’t the lead agency on the case.
Attempts to reach the U.S. Marshals Service for additional information Friday were unsuccessful.
