Suspect wanted for August attempted murder

Selma Police Department detectives are searching for Dewayne Jackson, 19, for his alleged involvement in an Aug. 17 shooting.
The department’s Major Crimes Unit has issued a warrant for the arrest of Jackson on attempted murder charges and two counts of shooting into an occupied building.
Selma officers responded to the 1200 Block of Woodrow Avenue at approximately 10:35 p.m. that Saturday, according to Lt. Curtis Muhannad with the Selma PD.
They found a 28-year-old male in his apartment complex with a gunshot wound to the chest.
After further investigation, the Selma Police Department has charged Jackson in the case.
Selma officials are not aware of any relationship between the victim and the suspect prior to the shooting, Muhannad said.
